The 87th Texas legislative session ends on May 31, which means that bills are being proposed and debated by representatives right now.

One of WISH’s goals is to eradicate the tax on menstrual products. A bill was introduced in the Texas House of Representatives in 2019, but was eventually abandoned. You can find out more about it here.

It’s time to take action and remind our representatives that women need this tax to be lifted now more than ever. The pandemic has disproportionately impacted women, leading to layoffs, homelessness, and economic uncertainty. In this time of need, having an added tax on necessary products is cruel and unnecessary.

It only takes a few minutes to find and contact your representatives with your concerns. Here’s what you can do to help:

3. Copy the text and email it to your representative!
